The Treasure Coast is named for the Spanish galleons wrecked along its shores, and its beaches still feel like a find. Stuart Beach and Jensen Beach on Hutchinson Island offer broad, golden sand and Atlantic surf, a different character from the calm Gulf coast.
From May through October the barrier islands become vital nesting grounds for sea turtles, and guided nighttime turtle walks offer an unforgettable, respectful glimpse of the ritual.
