The countryside around Saugatuck has quietly become one of the Midwest’s most rewarding wine regions. Fenn Valley Vineyards in nearby Fennville leads the way with tastings, tours and estate-grown wines, surrounded by a growing cast of cideries and small producers.
With the lake-moderated climate that also blesses the Leelanau and Old Mission peninsulas to the north, the area turns out crisp whites, cool-climate reds and excellent hard ciders.
